If you really want to add personality to a space, you need to embrace the concept of soft furnishings. A rug, a throw, some cushions, this is what will give your space its own look. When surrounded by plants and flowers we are happy and inspired. Nature is our greatest designer and inspiration and you simply can’t get it wrong with her wonderful sense of style. Use plants in bathrooms to create a serene and calm feel, use flowers in living areas to introduce colour and fragrance. An inexpensive but timeless tool we can use to create emotion in our homes when styling.

Take the time to learn how to make a bed. Crisp corners and beautifully placed pillows can completely change the look of a bed. Practise making your bed, get the pillow placement right and photograph it so that you can repeat the look. Clean white bedding and interesting cushions can transform a bedroom in minutes at little expense. This is not a skill you are born with but it is something you can learn, it can also be the difference between a stylish and inviting room and an ordinary space.
